The reality star known for her deep brunette locks went blonde over the weekend and showed off lighter locks as she walked the red carpet at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards held at Gibson Amphitheatre on August 9, 2009 in Universal City, California.

Last week, Allure magazine introduced a new word into the lexicon: the break-over. Apparently this term describes the new look a woman sports shortly after a breakup. Perhaps it was Kim Kardashian’s recent breakup with NFL star Reggie Bush that inspired her to dye her hair a soft, slightly-brassy blonde. Kim, who wore a blonde wig for a recent photoshoot, took to her blog to write about the new do:

“This time it’s for real, guys! I went blonde!!! I had been considering it ever since I wore that blonde wig, and I just decided to go for it!! What do you think? I am really loving it! My hairstylist Clyde Haygood orchestrated the whole thing and Rebecca from Goodform salon dyed it!”

No one has perfected better the sultry brunette image than Kim, obviously she still looks gorgeous, but if you think about it she completely looses her personality with the new hair color. She will eventually return to her roots..

Glamourous Evening Hairdo

Posted on 07 March 2009 by admin

Hairdo

The look for this season is all about glam! There are plenty of ways that you can dress up that hairdo, to be your tiara, crowning your beauty for all those special evenings. Whether you prefer to wear your locks up or down, you can bring dazzle to your look with a few tips and perhaps a well-chosen accessory or two. The key in great evening hair is to plan your style ahead of time, and even practice once or twice to ensure that when the special night arrives, your hair will be ready to party.

Sweep it Up

Up-dos have always been a glamorous choice for nighttime, and this year is no exception. You can go for a cascade of loose, tousled curls, or the sleek elegance of a French twist. For best results with this type of hairstyle, it is often best to shampoo and condition your tresses the day before your event. Rub a bit of styling gel into your hair, making sure to work it through the ends well. The next day, you can begin your styling with a spritz of hair spray for a little extra holding action. At this point you are ready to begin working your magic with the curling iron or hot rollers, depending on the type of up sweep you want.

If you have shorter strands around your face that won’t stay in your twist or chignon, you can leave them down to frame your face or treat them with a bit of styling gel to keep them under control. Another pretty look is to part the front of your hair into about six different sections, twist or braid each piece, and fasten it to the twist at the back of your head. Don’t forget to add some sparkle with a hair stick, comb or glam barrette.

Let it Down

Another pretty evening look for hair is a sleek style that falls softly to your shoulders. If you have naturally straight hair, this can be a particularly beautiful look for you. Shampoo and condition your hair the day of the event, and then apply a straightening gel if necessary. Blow dry a section at a time, pulling the ends slightly inward. For additional volume, you can set your dry hair in large hot rollers for ten minutes or so. Finish off with a dazzling barrette placed strategically at your temple for a bit of added allure.

Your hair will make a grand entrance on your big night as long as you get it ready for its debut properly. When it comes to those special moments, your tresses deserve a little extra attention that will repay the favor with a look that will make you feel like a diva, at least for the evening!
